I'm sure this is a silly question for most who are visitors to this site...

I am trying to use illustrator to design some simple posters for my business.

How do you place a photo image as a background to a text filled poster instead of the white paper look.

I would appreciate any assistance from the more experienced.

Thanks

File > Place to place your image. Use layers to put it "behind" your text.

Ctrl-Shift-[ will send it to the back so you don't need an extra layer...

1. File, Place,(Locate the File), Place.

2. Position the Image where you want it.

3. Object Menu, Arrange, Send to back.

Keep image selected and then;

4. Window, Transparency.

Good Luck.
