I'm just starting out with PageMaker. The first thing I want to do is open or 'place' an existing PDF file. The file I want to open is over 100 pages long - hence the problem - can I only open or place one page at a time? The reason I want to open an existing pdf file is because I want to save with taggs and have reflow enabled so I can view the document on my pda. I wasn't able to do this in Acrobat and thought Pagemaker would be the right instrument. So there are really two questions: (1) how to save a document in pdf format with reflow on so it can be viewed on a pda and (2) how to open/place an entire pdf document into pagemaker.

Thanks in advance for you response,

Doug

Reflow? Do you mean that you want a 2 or three column page to be reformatted to display as a one column page for easy viewing on the small screen of a PDA?

PageMaker places PDFs like any other image. You cannot edit the PDF in PageMaker.

You might investigate an application that converts PDF to HTML. There was a project that did this on sourceforge.net
