I wish to place my logo graphic on publications in pagemaker - logo was created in adobe illustrator. Whenever I do this I have 2 problems:

1. Graphic often comes across fuzzy or grainy
(I've tried exporting graphic as jpeg, tif, bmp, pdf - some better than others, but none all that great. Why is it that adobe illustrator files - filename.ai - aren't compatible directly with pagemaker???)

2. The white background always covers up the pagemaker elements.
(this may be an illustrator question, but if you know the answer anyway, please help!)

Thanks - Jenny

Hello,
The reason you can not bring in a native IA file is there is not an import filter for these files to Pagemaker.

When you place your files they come in fuzzy, try these settings.
File/preferences/general
change the Graphics display to High Resolution.
Also click on the more button:
Here you can change your standard display by resolution instead of size.
This is all you can do in Pagemaker to make your graphics look better in Pagemaker. If they still look fuzzy and print fuzzy you will need to clean them up in the orginal program.

As for the white background you will need to make a clipping path in Illustrator so that these files come in with a transparent background.
If you are refering to a white bounding box you will need to remove this in Illustrator also.
Good luck

PM can handle transparency only by EPS or TIFF
with clipping paths.
It´s necessary to rotate the image by 0.01° ( a bug) .
