I am trying to add an inside stroke on custom font I have drawn in illustrator. Drawing a letter O, A, or R I have used subtract shape in pathfinder to cut out the holes in the shapes (i.e the hole that makes an O not a circle) when I try to apply an inside stroke to the resulting shape, the middle of the O is filled with the stroke colour! what can I do to be able to place an inside stroke onto a shape which has a hole in the middle? i cant seem to find an answer anywhere!
please help

...don't quite understand your query, can you post an image link to a free image host site or your own web space to help help explain your current dilema?

hmmm...
Not sure if I'm properly addressing your question, but here's one idea.
Copy your letter > paste in front > give that double the line thickness you want > paste in front of that > select the one you just pasted & the outline version > do 'make clipping mask' > repeat with each letter, or weld them all and do it all at once.

may not be the most elegant solution, but it may do what you need (tho what that is could be clearer)
