Place focus on first field in a form

I have a main coldfusion form where on opening I would like to set the focus on the first field on the page. There are frames with this page, so I think the focus is set to an object on one of the frames, it gets lost and users have to press the tab key multiple times to get the cursor to the first field.

Can I accomplish this with a java script?
