Hello everyone!

I have a report with field that can grow depending on the text inside.

My problem is that when one of my field grows, it displaces the fields below.

I need a way to have some of my fields extends without moving the other fields.

I've tried to give a value to the Top property of my field but it doesn't accept it.

I want some of my field to be fixed to the default position I gave them when I constructed my report.

Thanks for your help
Isabel

What do you WANT to happen when the text box overlaps another field?

Hi traingamer.

The text box shouldn't overlap one another.

In fact what I want is: "whatever the other text box does(extend or not) I want some boxes to stay fix.

So if box number three has the properties top at 525
and the propertie left at 1299 I want those to stay like that whatever box number two does.

Thanks

If box two won't be overlapping any other boxes when it grows, stretch it vertically to the max size that you want it, then uncheck the CanGrow option.
Even if you don't do that: to the best of my knowledge(which is always suspect), it will only push items that are below the bottom of the box as defined on the report, so make sure the bottom of it is past 525.

The idea fix half of my problem.

Some of my boxes are there just in case that I need to enter data in them. Usually I don't used them but they need to be there in case.

box 1 box 2 box 3 box 4
box 5 box 6 box 7 box 8
box 9 box 10 box 11 box 12
box 13 box 14 box 15 box 16
box 17 box 18 box 19 box 20

box 21
box 22

This is what my design looks like.
The box 1 to 8 and 21 to 22 are used frequently
The others are there just in case.

My boxes 1 to 8 are extendable because the data I have to put in is sometime bigger then the box itself.

Here's what I really want.
I want that even if the boxes 1 to 20 grows that the box 21 and box 22 don't move from there original places (I have a background and the boxes needs to be aligned )

Thanks
Isa
