I have a Proliant 5500 with a Smart Array 3200. I have three of the newer style universal hot plug drives in it. I'm concerned that the drives middle led (Online) never comes on. I have the three drives configured in a raid 5 array and I have installed WinSrv 2k3 to that array.
I thought the middle "Online" led was supposed to come on once the drive was spun up and belonged to an array on the controller?
What am I doing wrong, and what do I need to do to fix this? I'd like the drives status to report accurate information.
Additional Info: The SA3200 has the 4.50A firmware and I updated the firmware on the three drives to the latest with the v7.10 firmware CD.
If anyone has any information for me I sure would appreciate it. Thanks!
