Hello,

I want to install the SunFreeware tar 1.3 to an automount (/cots/tar1.3) but not sure what syntax to use. My goal is to let all Sun Solaris 8 workstation users access it as needed but default to the core tar installed via my Jumpstart core OS install.

I am not sure how to install a package to other than it's default directory.

What can you refcommend?

Thanks,

FYI All,

I was able to do this by doing this by:

1. Do a standard pkgadd

2. Confirming the files installed against the INSTALL file
for the package.

3. From the above copy all the related files to a tmp directory and create a tar.

4. From this point I just extracted the tar file (with all the file dependencies) to my automount directory.

I can run it from any workstation now.

Wonder how others do this????
