I have been given an application which consists of 11 .pkg files and an installation script. Is there any way I can find out what files it is going to install and where without actually installing it?

Tony, pkgadd is the command to install software on Sun. you would use swinstall to install software on an HP system. swinstall does let you see what will be installed before the actual installation. Also, to find out what files are installed where, use the command: swlist -l file

Thanks, I've transferred this to the Sun forum <looks suitably embarrassed>
