pkgadd a tar file

This is probably a dumb question...but here goes.

I have a software pkg (blahblahblah.pkg.tar). Im trying to install this pkg with pkgadd but I cant and I think it is because it is tarred. how do I install this? This file isnt written to tape anywhere. Thanks for any info.

Hi ,

You can can try

# tar -xvf blahblahblah.pkg.tar
......

After Extracting

# pkgadd -d .

Should work if the Package is in Tar and Pkgadd format.
