Hi,
anyone done this yet and now wish he hadn't? While the upgrade itself went fine, Accpac changed the way Revenue Recognition is done. Apparently they didn't even think it's necessary to write some notes about this in their documentation so you would be able to pick up on this before the upgrade.
As an example: running Revenue Recognition for a Fixed Price Contract using Project Percentage Complete – once the worksheet is created, try and change the %age completion at the project level and you'll get inconsistent results.
This only seems to apply where the Fixed price is less than the estimated costs. The WIP and Cost of Goods Sold amount will not vary with the change in %age.
To replicate I have been performing the following:
- Create Rev Rec Worksheet (or use existing)
- Select worksheet
- Details
- Modify Percentage complete
- Recalculate & save changes
Everything is on the latest service packs!
Anyone knows a workaround?
