PJC closed job with billed invoices that were not recognised as revenue

I have a client that uses Revenue Recognition based on Completion (Time and Materials) but they have a number of historical closed jobs that have certain costs that were billed but were somehow not recognised as revenue. How could this have happened? I have only been dealing with them recently and upgraded them from 5.5 to 6.0 - these jobs would have been closed while they were on 5.5 or earlier.

My PJC knowledge is pretty basic so I would not be surprised if I were missing something simple.

Thanks in advance.

For some reason they seem to have been doing a number of manual AR job related entries instead of generating billing worksheets.

Will this mean that when they recognise revenue that these transactions will never be included?

They have many other jobs for which they have raised the AR billings manually (marked as job related) without using billing worksheets and the revenue has been recognised correctly via PJC revenue recognition.

In my test environment for this client I billed using manual AR job related invoices. I then created a revenue recognition worksheet and recognised revenue - these billings pulled through even though I did not use a billing worksheet. I have been unable to close a job without recognising revenue on all billings related to the job. I have tried using transaction cutoffs, closing and then reopening the job (with and without reversing the recognition entries) but still cannot replicate their issue.

Is there any circumstance in which you can have a closed job and unrecognised billings?
