Instead of me asking a bunch of questions, does anyone have a good link to a PIX520 config guide, version 6.3?
I also wanted to know how to bring an interface up...administratively down, line protocol up...help!

Figured out the no shut...
interface ethernet0 auto
ha ha---I kept trying
interface ethernet0 auto no shutdown
and
no interface ethernet0 auto shutdown

I still need that config guide, though, if anyone can help...thanks.

Here is the end all link from Cisco. Pretty much everything you want to do is in there.

It will take a while to get used to the PIX OS verses the IOS but it shouldn't take you long.

To bring up the interface you want to
no interface <ID> shutdown

Hope this helps.

I tried that, and it just gave me the possible parameters...I thought that
interface ethernet0 auto
did it...thanks for the link!

To bring up the interface you are right,
interface <HardwareID> auto
blending 6 and 7 code in my head is not a good idea. :)
