I have a PIX 506. One user is complaining that ever since we installed the firewall, his upload/download times to the server have become painfully slow. However, upon investigation (down/uploading from other remote sites), no one else is having a problem. I just want to verify that the PIX isn't causing this issue. Or, is there something I may not have thought of.

Thanks

I highly doubt its the PIX if no other people are having issues, do others use that same server?

HI.

Is the problem related to a specific web site?
Check out this articles:
PIX Performance Issues Caused by IDENT Protocol:
Poor or Intermittent FTP/HTTP Performance Through a PIX:

I don't think that that is your problem but it is a good idea to check.

The problems could be related to other problems, maybe simply another host consuming bandwidth.
You can check bandwidth using PDM, 3rd party software, MRTG, and more.
You can also check current connections using the command:
show conn

One more thing - if you have ADSL link, it could be an MTU issue. Try using a lower MTU at the workstation.

You should also collect and read the syslog messages (level 4) to see if anything related is written there.

Bye

Thank you very much for all the responses. The user got his IT guys at his end to look into the problem, and found out it was a bandwidth issue on their side.
