Hi,

Can a PIX be used for internal routing or I need to add a router behind it??

You can use it for internal routing.. not that I think that is such a great idea.. Alot of common virusus right now can really cause havoc on cpu on a PIX used a default gateway. (same can happen to routers too.. but not usually as bad)

Most new cisco switches will route. Use your switch or buy a cheap router..

The answer is, that it really depends. If you have one subnet behind the pix than NO you dont need a router. If you have more than one subnet YES you need one.

The PIX cannot do IP redirects so if you wanted to route multiple subnets off the same interface, you would not be able to.
