PIX in failover with OSPF on the outside

I am running PIX in failover, and want to have redundant routes on the outside. Assuming that I have two routers, both connected to a common Internet connection, is it possible to run an OSPF area between the PIX outside interface(s) and the two router interfaces, to provide redundant gateways? If this were one PIX, I would say yes, but don't know if PIX in failover present issues.

Failover PIX is an inactive PIX, and shouldn't get in the way of anything you are trying to do.

HRSP on your routers might do what you are wanting to do while having only one default route on the PIX.

Thanks for your input. My topology is a bit odd, in that I have a 3660 as my Internet router, with two ethernet interfaces. As the PIX and the two interfaces need to be in the same subnet, I have placed a small router in between the 3660 eth1 and the failover PIX, so that I can give 3660 eth0 192.168.1.10 and 'new router' inside interface 192.168.1.11. This new router is not a candidate to put in parallel with the 3660 (to do HSRP), so I did this to allow the setup of the OSPF area as an alternative. I'll check in and let you know how it goes...
