I have purchased a PIX 525, and it is supposed to be a 525-UR-BUN but I am unsure if it is or not. How can I check to find out which software it has installed or enabled?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Issue a "show ver" command and you should see 256 MB of RAM, 8 maximum interfaces and all the features enabled and . Hope this helps!

Everything is enabled except for VPN-DES and VPN-3DES. Could that mean that this is possibly an 525-R-BUN?

No. You can register for a free DES key on Cisco's website. However, 3DES is an option, and you have to purchase it. Last time I did that I believe the price was around $800 per box, and you also probably want to update your FO if you have that configuration.

Not anymore 3DES is now free since the new AES encryption algorithm is supported on the PIX. If you have 256 of RAM, 8 interface maximum and failover license enabled then it is a UR unit.
