We have a PIX 515 f/w with both internal and external web and email access. We also have a web server. All of our servers are w2k using dns. We can access our web server from the outside using the url but can NOT access the web server internally using the url. When we use the ip address the connection works fine.

Any ideas??

Thanks for the help.

HI.

There is the "alias" command of the pix that can translate external ip address to internal one.
Check here for command reference of your version:

A better solution is to configure the clients to use an internal DNS server, and configure the internal server with a copy of the external registered DNS domain name, but with the corresponding private ip addresses instead of the registered addresses.
This requires good planning and implementation to avoid problems, but it have many benefits for clients, especially faster TCP/IP networking in many applications.

Bye
