This is a strange problem we have here and advice is appreciated.
We have a Pix 506e on a remote site that had been working without an issue. The Pix establishes a VPN link that tunnels through the local site backbone and gigamesh. A change was made to the Backbone switches to make them Layer 3 Switches. Since then we get locked out of the Pix periodically for hours at a time. The indication is the problem lies with the switches but......all other connections are fine except this one. If the pix has it's power reset, the link is established.
Can heavy traffic, not intended for the pix cause the pix to block all traffic on a DoS style basis and then reset itself when it feels like it (in a non-technical sense).
We are looking to see if we are being Nat'd somewhere in the Gigamesh which would break the VPN link.
If not, has anyone got any ideas on this.
Thanks in advance.
Adrian
