PIX 506 interfaces interm shutdown hooked to a 2924XL Switch

We have a PIX 506 Firewall connected to a 2924XL Switch. The Interface on the PIX keeps shuttingdown intermitenly. I changed the port on the Switch to no portfast, Speed 10, which made the problem happin less often, but problem still persist. Wondering if anyone has had this problem.

Set the port speed on the PIX manually. Don't leave it on auto.

Same thing happened on my PIX 515. Setting the port speed to 10 on both the PIX and the Switch seemed to clear up the problem. I also swapped out the cable just in case.
