Here is the problem..

I have a Cisco Pix 501 that we use to connect to the office with via VPN. The VPN seems to work just fine from the United States, but we do not have the same luck with Europe. A co-worker is in Paris, France and cannot connect to the office network via VPN. I connect with no problem and he just cannot get a connection. Prior to leaving he connected to the VPN with no problem and he uses it on a normal basis, so I am sure that it is not something that he is doing. We have also had issues connecting via VPN from Asia.

Is there a reason why the VPN connection will not work from Europe? And... what can I do to fix this?

thanks...

Seems like the ISP they are connecting from is not allowing VPN connections. Some basic test is have them ping the VPN/Pix ip address if its allowed. If thats successful, then you know the server is available in that capacity. Next run to debugs on the Pix. Start with the following

debug crypto isakmp
debug crypto ipsec
term mon

See if you can see the users ip hitting the PIX. Also if the users is using cisco vpn client have them bring there logging window up. There is some info in there that can be useful.

Let me know what you find out.

Frank
