I have recently purchased a 501 for my company office. Even though we have 18 employees I only purchased the 10 user license with it. The employees do not use the internet much and I thought that I could get by without upgrading to the 50. It appears that I am wrong. Although I see the PAT sessions being built and then torn back down. It appears that only certain machines are able to get through the firewall. I thought that the 501 was a ten concurrent license but It appears that it may be address based and only allow 10 address through the firewall. Does anyone know if the License is per connection or per session or per seat? Any help would be appreciated.

The Cisco PIX 501 Firewall 10-user license supports up to 10 concurrent source IP addresses from your internal network to traverse through the PIX 501. The integrated DHCP server supports up to 32 DHCP leases. Jeter@LasVegas.com
