Hello,

I have a PIX 501 version 6.3(4) with PDM version 3.0(2). I have the issue with the latest versions on Java not supporting the older PDM versions. Thing is I can't downgrade my Java version as I need the later ones to run other applications. I have downgraded (java) in the past to make config changes but it caused me a fair bit of work afterwards getting the other applications that rely on the latest Java version going again.

That being said I guess my question is... What's the latest PDM version compatible with my PIX, is it downloadable from anywhere and will it run with Java 6_20? The Cisco website is awful and I can't find a thing by the way.

Cheers

RNW2,
Here is an option that I use due to Java incompatibilities. I installed Sun's VirtualBox (free) on my computer, then built up a client system within it. That way I can run the things that need an older version of Java from that virtual client machine. I know it is a bit clugy to do it that way, but it solved my problems.

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately the PIX is at a remote site with an SBS network. I'm not based there so and PIX config is done via the server. The server is a bit on the low side as far as the spec is concerned so I'd be worried about adding a VM to what is already an overworked system.

If you've any other ideas though or any clue as to where I can get the latest PDM for that PIX it'd be appreciated.
