HI.

* What is this line for? You can safely remove it:
route inside wumagic 255.255.255.255 192.168.1.1

* Use this command at the pix to check if you got an ip:
show ip

Can you ping the cable device from the pix?

How do you check Internet connectivity at the workstations?
Try first connecting to a know IP address to eliminate DNS problems.
One example is starting a telnet session to one of the Internet connection devices or routers.

If you connect a workstation directly to the cable device, then:
Does it get an ip address?
Can it go out to the Internet?

Your configuration seems fine to me.
You should also troubleshoot the cable connection with assistant from ISP.

Use the PDM log and/of buffer logging at the pix to get some more info. Try the highest level first until you get the initial connection, then go to a lower one:

logging on
logging buffer 7
show log
clear log
[... try to connect now ...]
show log
logging buffer 4 (I use level 4 in most small businesses)
clear log
[... try again ...]
show log

Bye
