PIX 501 Mac Address Question

Hey everyone,

I have a quick question about manually setting the mac address on the outside interface of my PIX 501. The question is, how do I do it?? I just got the PIX, it is running DES/3DES with IOS ver 6.1.1. Please let me know how to manually set the mac address on the outside interface, since that is what I'll need to do in order for my cable ISP to provide service to me.

I know that I can call and tell them the mac address for the PIS, but I was hopeing I wouldn't have to do that, just in case I upgrade in the future. Any help would e greatly appreciated.....

Im having the same problem also. I will probably open a Tac case on Monday.

You cannot change the MAC address on the PIX it is fixed. You will need to call your ISP and tell them the MAC address.
