PIX 501 losing connectivity

At work, we recently had a PIX 501 go out. We had an extra onsite already, so it seemed to not be too big of a deal. I reconfigured the replacement PIX 501 to have an identical config, and everything was working fine. All the connections worked correctly until this morning, when it just dropped. We had no internet, and internally I could not ping the internal IP of the PIX (I could last night). Restarting the PIX does nothing, but I have found that if we unplug ANY of the three network cables and plug them back in, the connection (both internally and externally) will be restored without having to restart the PIX. The connection will stay up for about 5 minutes before dropping again. I can connect to the PIX through the console cable and it shows that the interfaces are UP. I am extremely confused, especially since unplugging and replugging in ANY of the cables restores ALL the connectivity.

Thanks for any help!

It could be that errors on a link are causing an interface to disable itself.

Get on the PIX and check the logging. If it isn't logging, you will have to turn it on.

Do a "show interface..." for each interface as well to see if any of them are reporting lots of errors.
