Hi, not had to bother with pivot tables for years but have a requirement to display data in a pivot. One of the columns in the data is a date column, I will be summing sales with the date field running across the pivot columns. Trouble is I don’t want to see the individual dates, what I’d like to have is Oct 19, Nov 19 in the columns.
Can this be done or do I need to create a helper column which holds the first day of the month for each row in the date column?

Thanks

Hi,

There's a way to GROUP the dates by choosing Month & Year in that field. Right-click on the field in the PT.

Oh wow Skip, so glad you are still here on Tektips I’ll investigate further

BTW, PTs are great for quick n dirty.

On occasion I do my own aggregations for the COLUMN fields. That way I have more control of the pivot results.
