pivot table report problem

I ran a pivot table on a 10 column data field. when returning data the pivot table actually pulled the incorrect field. It was like it was doing a normal vlookup and it came to the first part number and used its field. I should state our part numbers as 7 and 12 digets long with the first 7 matching. is there a way to make sure the pivot table pulls the full part number when selecting and not just part or the number?

Do your field names contain any "Reserved Function names", I had a problem with a field name of "Year" I changed it to "Year_" and all was fine.

Also is the pivot set to return the proper calculation of your values ?
