I have a pivot table that takes information such as bookings, revenue etc. from a table in my db. However, the places booked (number of places booked by company)field in the pivot table is not picking up the actual number in the field (ie 5, 19); it is just counting it as 1. All the field, table names are correct and have been double checked; the revenue field picks up numbers fine, I have tried everything - does anyone know what I am missing here?
Thanks

Sounds like you may have the field set to COUNT rather then SUM.

The count seems to be a default.

Go to the Wizard and the filed in the data bit will probably say COUNT of. Double click it and make it Sum of.

Hope this works.

I'm in the habit of checking the total type as I create the pivot table so I don't get caught out.

Thanks for that - but I have tried every single option in the wizard out of desperation & with sum it doesn't pick up anything at all - just leaves a space. I think there must be something wrong with the way that it's picking up data from the Access table but I can't see what.

Ok,

Try this to eliminate a data problem.

Export the data in Excel format. Recreate the pivot table and see what happens.

Does it run OK? If so the probelm is with the linking from Access. What version are you using and how are you linking?
