I have a pivot table in Excel that I have linked up to an Access database. I am using this information in the pivot table to link to different reports in Excel that I am creating. I am having 2 problems.
The first problem is that I can only update this data in the reports when the pivot table is open. If it isn't open I get ref# as an error.
The second problem is that the whenever I save these new reports that are linked to the pivot table I can only open one at a time after I have closed the pivot table. I open the new file and it asks me if I'd like to update my data. I tell it no and then my report opens up without it being updated. I then try to open another report linked to the same pivot table and also tell it no. I get ref# in the 2nd report. The only thing that fixes this is to have the pivot table open at the same time.
How can I solve this problem?
