Hello,

I know that if I put in conditional formatting, everytime someone changes the view of the pivot, the CF is lost ~ this will not work, I need the cf to stay there.

I have attachment I can send if someone out there is good with pivots.

1)EXAMPLE:
rows 4 thru 8 = consultants
row 9 is pivot subtotal (the above 4 cons. managers numbers). I need every other column in the pivot to have cf to the subtotal. So if rep 1's number is lower than their managers number, then red if Higher, then green. I know I can individually cf them.

2)
Plus, the subtotals are not carrying the correct format... every other column should be an average, not a sum ~ I do not have the time to click on a kabillion cells to change the field settings for each. When I orig. pivoted the data, I clicked in the column to set the field settings, but it for some reason does not apply to the subtotals.

ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED, THIS WAS DUE 2 MONTHS AGO.

If you are working in excel 97, I would be happy to take a look - any later version and I'm afraid I can't help. Some suggestions tho - what are your options on the PT set to - there should be a couple to do with retention of formatting - these should be turned off. Also, I believe that to set formatting that will continue to apply, you must have the ENABLE SELECTION option ON before formatting
I have never heard of subtotals not obeying the field setting unless they are manually changed - could anyone have had a fiddle with your spreadsheet ???
