I havean excel 2007 pivot table. It sums the columns fine but there is no total of the row at the right most column of the sheet.
My data is as follows
Jan Feb Mar
Business Unit
XYZ Not Getting
Category 1 1 3 0 4
Category 2 0 0 0 0
Category 3 0 1 0 1
-------------------------------------
XYZ Total 1 4 0

I am not getting the values for the Category field.
The Business Unit and Category are Row Labels, and the months are Values.
The column labels are Values....(which are the months selected)....
Not sure whats happening here.

hi,

Options > PivotTable > Options > Totals & Filter Tab -- Show Grand Totals for Rows

I was able to create a calculated field that handles the subtotals for the row, however the fields are selected in
the PT by the user who clicks on the fields. How does the calculated field know which fields were selected by the user.
I can do it manually but this is going to be used by someone. For ex...if they wanted Jan Feb And March and selected these fields from the pivot table field selector....the calculated field is hard-coded with all 12 months....how can i get the calculated field to sync with what the user selected.....I understand Excel 2003 handles this issue automatically. I am on 07

Did you try my suggestion?

yes, it works but i would have to change it manually. See my post above. There are Pivot table fields for months Jan - December.
The user selects these from the Pivot Table field selector. I want those fields that are selected to have a total field at the right most column.

THAT is exactly what happens when you check Show Grand Totals for Rows!
