I have an application in access that creates tables and can export them into excel spreadsheets. I want to click on a button from access and make a pivot table appear. I have a macro that if I run it on any table in excel it will work correctly.

The question is how do I make the pivot table macro run automatically when I export a table from access into excel?
Or is there some other way to create a pivot table from my access application.

I am using office 2000.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi mmr3b9,

I been watching to see if someone would respond. I see your question is languishing from benign neglect. Well, let's see if I can't pose a possible solution without being B-10 up. (ha!)

I am not an Access guru. But if I were faced with such an opportunity such as yours, here's what I might do.

In the VB Editor, set a reference to the XL workbook containing the procedure you need for your Excel PivotTable.

Write a procedure in Access VB Project to export the table to Excel and call the Procedure for your PivotTable.

Best I can do at this time :)
