I am trying to set up a new pivot chart in Excel 2003 with no luck. On my import table I have 4 column that are of interest to me: PayCodeID,AdjustmentAmt,DebitAmt and Credit Amt
I would like the pivot chart to have the first column to be the PayCodeD. This is not a problem. My second column which I pick Adjustment Amt this is not a problem. It is when I select the third column that I have my issue. Instead of the data going across the table In Column C I get a column B gets created called Data. And the Sum of adjustment Amt and the Sum of Debit Amt go under each other. Is there a way to get the Debit Column into Column C?

Any help is appreciated.

Tom

hi,
I would like the pivot chart to have the first column to be the PayCodeD
That makes no sense! How can you PLOT an ID which is not an amount!

Typically the ID would be on the category axis and the 3 NUMERIC values would be plotted on the Value axis as stacked or cluster column series.

What am I missing?

In this case the Plot ID is a numeric value and the other three values are numeric. I guess I am not stacking them properly and that is what I need help with.

What? The PlotID may be a numeric value, but so is a ZIP Code: the value is NOT A QUANTIFIABLE AMOUNT! Does my ZIP in Texas, 76126 have more stuff than one in Massachusetts, 02142???

OK, are you saying that I can't sort by an ID?

Did not say ANYTHING about SORT.

I did say that it makes no sense to PLOT an ID on a chart. The ID would make sense in the Category Axis, but not as a quantitative VALUE.
