I have recently been given a Pipeline DSL-Cell-50A from a friend. I decided to place this on my network, but as he is out of town on vacation i do not have the password. Is thier any way to reset the NVRAM back to factory defaults without going through the software (ie pins, battery reset...).

Thanks for any help

If you mean the telnet password then use the serial com port and Hyperterminal to access the router. The serial connection is not password protected.

If you mean the full access password then try downloading NavisConnect to access the routers config. ftp://ftp.ascend.com/pub/Software-Releases/NavisConnect/

NavisConnect uses SNMP to access the router. The idea is to use the software to download the configs. Then scan the config file (it should be a flat text file) and look for "SECURITY". The full access password should be there.
