Hi, I bought a used Pipeline 50 and I need a hash code. Lucent wants me to buy a service contract before they will give me the hash code. I tried telling them I'm just some computer enthusiast with no business uses of the device, but they still wouldn't help me out.

Anyone know of a way I can get a hash code for a Pipeline 50 (P50-1UBRI)?

If you are wanting to add a feature that didn't come with the unit originally then good luck. Lucent is very tight about that kind of stuff. They do not give away features. Even for those that aren't using the unit for business, etc. I don't really blame them. Who knows if this unit is going to end up on ebay or something, know what I mean.

If you do find a source for hashcode, let us know. I'm curious to know too.

really the ip/sec would be useful for DOS attacks. i have read sumwhere that the codes are serial number related so there is a key/hash code generator sumwheres.

If the IPsec feature is what you are interested in then that should be a free feature (56bit encryption only). Goto You should get the feature code (note this is NOT a hashcode) for IPsec which includes firewall feature.
