I can surf the internet, but I cannot ping out to any sites. My ISP cannot ping the address of my Lucent Pipeline ISDN router. I do not have a firewall, nor am I using NAT. Does anyone know why I cannot ping anything?
Try a traceroute to a site and see where it stops. I suspect whatever router you are tied to on the internet may be configured to block ICMP packets which would stop your ping.
Generally, if you can traceroute to it, you should be able to ping it.. most of the time.
you will need to add a static route or turn on nat . Last resort, go ahead and default the router and start over . ( ^d, d for diag and type fclear 3 times and the type nvram clear). when back up and programed type ^d, d and type fsave to exit type quit .
Good Luck !!! #-)
