pinging problems

when i ping a certain pc it pings successfull for a while and then gives a time out error.any reason why this should happen?

Telnet to the ip that gives you this responce. I'm wondering if it is taking a different route. ( just a thought )

I don't think thay have any ICMP redirector. Try ping after that look at the ARP cache. Look for the station mAC for given IP, Sometimes IP conflict give this problem.
