Ping Web page 2

Hello,

On a Sun Solaris system I need to be able to test if a web page is available from a script.

I know I can use ping <hostname>, but I am not sure how to test for a web page (via http). Though you can use ping to check via port 80 this does not tell me if a web page is available.

What can you recommend?
