Can anyone help me figure out what this error is. I get it when i am trying to ping. Does anyone no anything about this error or where i can find out what this errors cause is. thanks

A couple of things may be causing this problem.

1. TCP/IP may not be setup correctly.

2. PING utility is a different version than your TCP/IP protocol.
Check to see if you have a directory called C:\WINDOWS\WS2BAKUP this backup directory is created with WS2SETUP.EXE which is winsock 2 update. To revert back to the original winsock before the update you will need to shutdown to MSDOS mode and run the batch file ws2setup.bat located in that directory. The last line modified the registry and will need to be executed while in windows. Restart windows and goto START-RUN type in the last line from the batch file including the starting path eg. C:\WINDOWS\WS2BAKUP\DELW2REG.EXE addafvxd
Replace addafvxd with what you find on the last line of your batch file.
