Hello,

We have a WIndows 98 PC with a proxy installed. It has a wirless LAN access point, and a normal NIC card.
Both have two different IP spans.

Wireless = 192.168.0.1
Ethernet = 202.83.23.101

The clients that have a wirless LAN card are connected using the 192.168.0.1 range and the clients which have a physical connection through the HUB are connected using the the 202.??.??.?? range.

The wirless clients have access to the Internet through the proxy, Internet explorer is setup to go use the proxy on the specified IP address, BUT when I try to do the same with the clients that are physically connected to the hub on the different IP range they dont work. Although the proxy has two IP addresses assigned to two LAN access points the 202.?? does not work.

Does anyone know how to get around this.

As I understand your proxy have 2 interfaces. One to the 192.x and another one to 202.x.
One is working, the other one not.
The conclusion can be just one:
- if you have IP connection between the computers(202.x) and the proxy on the interface(202.x) then you have to check the settings orf the proxy. What kind of proxy do you have? In a proxy you have to set what network interfaces to use. Gia Betiu

Hello Gia

Its a japanese Proxy called black jumbo dog.
Its all in japanese, so I will have to ask soemone top translate, if the proxy only allows 1 network interface it wont work.

Would it be possible if i gave the wirless card 192.168.0.1 and the NiC card 192.168.0.100 because the clients with the physical connection cannot see the clients with the wireless connection yet we all can see the proxy.

Any Ideas?

The two groups are two networks (192.x and 202.x). If you want to have communication between two networks you need a router. Maybe you can use the proxy machine as a router (instal router service if it is supported) Gia Betiu
