I have a small test setup consisting of a 3550 switch with two vlans defined on it, 10 and 11. On vlan 11 I have an AP, and my PC. Both acquire an address with the right default gateway and all. From the switch I can ping the AP but not the PC, from the AP I can ping the switch, but not the PC. From the PC I can ping both the AP and the switch. Does anyone know why this is happening?

I would look for firewalls on the PC (antiviruses may well be acting as firewalls)

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

What VLAN is the management interface on the switch a member of?

I agree with jimbopalmer. This sounds like a firewall issue. The PC probably has firewall software installed that is allowing incoming ICMP responses but is blocking incoming ICMP queries.

windows xp sp2 has a firewall if you have that Os try to turn it off from security center see if that solves it.

good luck
