Ping Problem

I have a Linksys Router which serves a Laptop and a PC.
I am able to connect to the internet. I am able to ping to 68.192.x.x ( which i beleive is the public ip given by the linksys router ) from my PC or from my Laptop. But if i ping the same ip from outside i get request timed out.
I was able to ping this ip before. But the other day i had to power down the linksys router and after that i have this problem. I need to ping this ip from outside then only i would be able to get a remote connection from my office which needs this ip.

Appreciate a quick response.
