ping not responding, network working ?

I can't understand it- ping reply is - request timed out
but I can see thet computer in network neighbourhood
Is this possible if on the computer is installed some firewall, or when??

All Windows XP SP2 or that get updated with service pack 2 will have the Windows Firewall ENABLED by default and it will not answer to PINGs(ICMP).
