ping IP

hey all

Hopefully I can explain this properly
I have an IP address (not a fixed) that I can ping - shows computer plugged into network - but the machine name does not show on our Active Directory.

Is there any other way other than either shutting down or setting up another machine with same IP that I can find the user on this machine

It might be a printer.

But if not you could net send them a message to come and visit you.

thanks bcaster, that's what I did in the end, just the user was out for most of the day lol just when you need to know.
