This is an odd one!! I have a Cisco 3740 Router which is plugged into a Avaya Cajun Switch. The Avaya Media Processor is plugged into the same Switch. I have installed a hub with a laptop network tap between the Media Processor and the cajun switch.
I initiate a ping from the router(See ping parameters below)
When I watch the ping on the network tap via Wireshark, I observe all ping requests from the router, I observe and recieve only 96% of the replys from the Media Processor.
This only happens between these two devices.
I can ping other addresses from the router with a 100% success.
I can ping the Media Processor from other devices with 100% success.
I can ping from a different Cisco router in a different subnet to the same Media Processor with 100% success.
Has anyone else seen this type of regular interval ping drops? Any Ideas?
Thanks!!
