My issue is with a Windows Server 2003 environment via an ADSL router (no firewall, just NAT).

Web sites can be accessed, e-mail received, BUT, VOIP is breaking up. To try to analyse this I tried to traceroute to the VOIP server without any success - cannot traceroute to ANY server, only the first line with the LAN address of the router appears, thereafter, timeouts. Similarly cannot ping, address is correctly resolved, but no response.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Is ICMP allowed on the router?

Both Traceroute and Ping use the Internet Control Messaging Protocol for communication. This can be disabled on routers.

Thanks for your response.

The router (Greatspeed) is provided by the ISP and integrated with the DSL modem. It has very basic settings for port forwarding, activating NAT and that is about it!

All of the parameters are shown in the status report as below (only username and password x'd out). I have had no problems with ping and traceroute with other similar router/modems at this location...
