Pictures not showing up

When working in Dreamweaver certain pictures are not showing up in the actual Dreamweaver program, just the broken link picture. However when I preview the page in IE 7.0 or upload it and acces it through the web the pictures are showing up. Is there a setting or something I'm missing?

Check the image path on your computer and see if the images resides in that directory.

we have the pictures linked to the web, not a path on the computer

Do you have a firewall? Can DW access the internet to load the images? Try loading something else and see if that comes up.

some of the pictures are coming up but most are not
