Hi,
I have a problem with displaying html emails in Lotus Notes Client (v.5.0.11).
When I access email everything looks normal - I can see all pictures with links, when I access the same e-mail through lotus client I can see frame with red cross in upper left corner. I use proxy to access Internet - specified it in location document, but still doesn't work :(
Thanks for any help
Radek

Sorry, the second sentence schould be:
When I access email through Internet Explorer everything looks normal [...]

We had the same problem a while back, we now have a transparent proxy that emulates our gateway, thus solving this problem.
But there are some things you could try that we had limited success on.
Make sure that you specify the proxy:port# on the basics tab, then on the Internet Browser tab of the location document specify "Notes with Internet Explorer". This helped us to display html e-mails. When we used the "Microsoft Internet Exporer" option we just got the red boxes.

I will try to find what else we tried, but I think one of our attempts involved actually entering the username in the proxy field, such as "username@proxy:port#"

Hi,
I had spent quite a long time to find the solution:
1. You need to change Names.nsf user document to no preference. Since you can see a red box, I think you have already done it.
2. Use LN client 5.0.10 or above if you access internet through proxy server. There is a known bug in LN client be4 5.0.10 which do not ask u the enter a username/password for proxy server authentication.
3. Location document--Browser setting-- ou can choose anything as Lotus Notes client always use Notes to rendering the html mail for u.
4. Make sure you allow the "BASIC" authentication in your proxy server.
