Hi,
I am print labels 3 across by 3 down on 8 1/2 by 11 size paper. The total size of my label is approx. 2 3/8 across by 3 1/2 in length. The size of the picture I am either embedding or linking on the bottom part of the label is 2 1/4 inches in length (same width). I am printing portrate.
Here is the problem. Before I had the picture, 1 page is approx. 45k without the picture. After I insert/imbed a picture of 22k, the size of 1 page is 8.3 meg. It is taking forever to queue up this job. 9 pages and the file size is 75 meg. I am using a .tif file. Does anyone know the reason for this and/or a resolution ?

Thanks,

Try using a smaller black/white gif file. Color takes a lot bigger size.

I has to be color. I just tried making the picture smaller to exact size instead of shrinking and the size came down dramatically. However, it is still bigger than what it should be. The picture is now 11 kb. 43 kb for the orig. report. 11 x 9 for the 9 picuters. So it should be approx. 142 kb. It is showing 885 kb. What is blowing up the size ?

It appears that the size of the graphic is doing it. Look at Google but I believe that a GIF graphic has less colors therefore it should be a smaller size but I could be wrong. At anyrate use a smaller graphic to reduce the size of the file. Good luck!

Thanks, I created a gif at 8k and it still blew up to 46k when I printed. I did not even run it through Access. I have to check the printer to see what is doing this. I am printing something very simple. I can't imagine what it is going to do when I make it 3 colors.
